Plans?
People have been asking me and the BF about our plans, like whether we have decided on the dates etc. But honestly, after the proposal, how does one go about planning? How do you choose the dates? How do you choose the venue? It really sounds like so much WORK!!! It really shouldn’t be work, so I’m going to try and remind myself constantly to enjoy the process of planning. I really don’t want the conventional large sit down 9-course Chinese dinner and neither does the BF. Such a bore, isn’t it?
It seems like everything will change in the next year or so… getting a house, getting married, weddings… all kinda scary really. I understand how many brides can feel sort of overwhelmed by it all. I really hope we get to have our dream wedding where it’s really really REALLY simple and not have to conform to everyone else’s idea of a wedding. I actually wish I can just remain engaged forever. It’s all the promises with none of the hassle.
But since I’ve promised myself to have fun, I must take a deep breath and go forth with the planning. At least now when I flip through bridal magazines I have a legitimate reason to; no more pretending to be nonchalant and hoping that no one catches me like a child sneaking candy from the candy jar. I am finally free to browse! Quite liberating actually. I don’t quite enjoy the planning yet, but so far I am really enjoying the wedding literature. At least that part is fun.
