Yawners

I woke up late for class today. Actually I woke up 10 minutes before the class was supposed to start. Which really bugs me. Why can’t I have woken up 30 minutes or 60 minutes before instead? Anyway, still in shock I had to call the client to postpone the appointment. Luckily I did not receive any hostile vibes from the client, even though I really felt like slapping myself in the face then time myself out in a corner facing the wall and reflect on what I did wrong. They were very nice about it and I felt so awful.

Anyways the biggest problem here is I told the truth when I called them up. Was this particular truth a little too unprofessional? To be honest I have no idea what is the professional thing to do here in this case. Tell the truth or make up a lie? I don’t really know. And this is something that happens to almost everyone I suppose, except maybe Hillary Clinton, she looks like she never ever sleeps and maybe just hangs upside down from a tree branch at night with her eyes open. That woman has way too much energy and drive for her age, and the only logical explanation would be she’s just like Benjamin Button. So since most other people has experienced this in their lives, it should be something we can all relate to isn’t it? Waking up late, the alarm not working, the clock stopped, you overslept even though the alarm is working, etc are all something we have been through at least once. But still I have no clue as to what is the professionally adequate excuse to give to a client. How nicely can you phrase things to explain that you woke up late or the alarm didn’t go off?

I’ll go back to sleep now and try to dream of something. Or hide my face in my pillows and cry from embarrassment. Sigh. Where’s Hillary Clinton when you need her?
